Technical Superintendent (f/m/d)

INTRODUCTION

With immediate effect, we are looking for a Technical Superintendent to join our multi-national team based in one of our offices in Hamburg or Schnaittenbach, Bavaria. You will join an organization with global reach, reputation and a rich heritage in the maritime industry.

In your capacity of Technical Superintendent, you ensure a smooth ship operation for a number of dry cargo ships and its technical management in accordance with the company’s processes and procedures, relevant international rules and regulations, best industry practice and customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall management and for your assigned vessels – including technical aspects, class, flag state, dry dockings, coordination of supplies with the purchasing department
  • Manage the day-to-day technical management for the assigned vessels
  • Prepare operating budgets for the vessels, follow up on deviation and cost control
  • Prepare and determine repair specifications for docking, regular maintenance and other projects
  • Actively participate in crew selection in cooperation with our in-house crewing department
  • Support and contribute to the Fleet Director’s and Senior Management tasks and duties
  • Coordinate and cooperate with the purchasing and the marine team
  • Form a strong cooperation between vessel SMT (Ship Management Team) and shore personnel

YOUR PROFILE

  • Good team player and able to work under stress in the dynamic shipping industry
  • Three years of experience as Technical Superintendent
  • Sailing experience in Senior Engineering Officer position
  • Knowledge of national and international safety and environmental regulations
  • Administrative skills
  • Motivated and self-reliant
  • Familiarity with relevant ICT (Word, Excel, PMS, DMS)
  • Fluent in English, both orally and in writing, where proficiency in German (oral and written) will be beneficial
  • Willingness to travel for vessel inspections, dry dockings and other designated tasks as per company demands
